How cute my man is blowing off the driveway. This was last night when there was only a foot of snow. It wasn't so much fun for him today. We're hoping this is the view again tomorrow am and not what we woke up to today.
Our red cheeked man and his snow shovel. He really uses it like he should ... to remove snow. He was so sad to come inside and said his cheeks didn't hurt. Really? They hurt me just looking at them.
Lauren enjoying the snow last night. She was throwing herself down on the ground and rolling down our driveway. They had a blast and then cried when we told them they had to come in. "Lauren, we live here now. We can't leave the snow. Now come inside. You can come back out tomorrow."
My man and his mission to clear off our driveway. The snow bank was so big from today's storm that he had to use a shovel to get the snow low enough to use the snow blower on. Poor guy.

Here we are!!! I just realized upon logging on to our much neglected blog that it has been almost 2 months since I posted. For most of you...you know our lives have been insanely crazy. More on that later. Here is where we are today...inside, well most of us are anyway as the entire greater Des Moines area receives a whopping from Mother Nature that it hasn't seen in over 20 years. And yes...we are here to experience it. What perfect timing the Lord has.
For now, the snow has stopped, the wind has settled down and it is still down right FREEZING! No, really, it's below freezing. They say with the wind chill to expect -25 tonight and -20 for the day time tomorrow. Oh goody! It should be a good time.
Here are a few pics of the past day of our now regular duties. Geraud has a new toy that he really liked at first and since he just busted through a snow bank that came above his waist, (I'm not exaggerating!) his new toy may be a notch lower on his favorite things list. The entire city and surrounding areas shut down for the day as it was very dangerous to be on the roads. Nothing, and I mean nothing was open.
The kids are having a blast in the snow and it is a toasty 64 inside. Oh and if you mix your hot cocoa with 1/2 milk and 1/2 water and then add whipped cream...it makes your day even better. :)
I'll do my best to get you all caught up to speed on our great big cold adventure to Iowa over the next week or so. No promises!

64 inside? That sounds like our house in the winter. But I'm sure 64 feels like Hawaii when it's -20 below outside ;-)
Stay warm & cozy w/the fam inside!
Crazy!!! Atleast the kids are young enough to adjust well and enjoy it! Hopefully there will not be a blizzard when it's time to go and have that baby!!
His cheeks make me hurt too!!!! Brrrrr!!! What a welcome to the midwest winter! I've been waiting for you to post something!!! Anxious to hear how it's going!!!! You should have time to blog since it's soooo COLD outside! Miss you!!!
